If you plan on exploring St. Croix, it's best to rent a car while visiting. St. Croix's roads will take you through the rainforest, up a mountain nicknamed 'The Beast', along scenic hilltops and coastal drives, through neighborhoods named after Danish plantations like 'Work and Rest', 'Little Princess', and 'Solitude'.
