Is it better to drive or take the bus to Disney parks?

The buses for those lag and the parking lot capacity is nowhere near in size as the main theme parks so walking distance is VERY minimal. We tend to get there at least a half before it opens so we always have parking upfront. I would drive to all other locations.

The choice between driving and taking the Disney bus system in 2026 depends on your destination and priority for speed versus convenience. For Magic Kingdom, taking the bus is almost always better because it drops you off directly at the park gates. If you drive, you must park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and then take a monorail or ferry to reach the park, which can add 45 minutes to your commute. Conversely, for EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, driving your own car is often faster and offers more flexibility, especially if you plan to "Park Hop" or leave quickly for a mid-day break. However, if you plan to enjoy alcoholic beverages at EPCOT or Disney Springs, the complimentary bus service is the safer, more relaxing choice. Many guests prefer the "hassle-free" nature of the buses, avoiding the $30+ daily parking fee (if not staying on-site) and the need to navigate the sprawling parking lots. In 2026, the integration of the "My Disney Experience" app with real-time bus tracking has made the transit system more predictable and efficient for resort guests.

Because the parking lot for Magic Kingdom is actually about a mile away at the Transportation and Ticket Center, it is usually faster to use Disney's transportation. Guests that drive and park must first hop on the monorail or ferry in order to get to the front gates of Magic Kingdom.
