Choosing between Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Paris Orly (ORY) depends on your origin and final destination. Orly is widely considered better for reaching central Paris because it is closer (only 13 km south) and, as of late 2025/2026, it is connected to the city by the highly efficient Metro Line 14, which takes you to Châtelet in roughly 25 minutes. It is smaller and easier to navigate. Conversely, CDG is the better choice for long-haul international travelers arriving from outside Europe, as it is the primary global hub with more airline options and lounge facilities. CDG is also superior if your final destination is Disneyland Paris, as it offers a direct TGV train that reaches the park in just 10 minutes. While CDG is larger and sometimes more overwhelming, its connectivity to the TGV network and its role as the flagship gateway make it unavoidable for most trans-oceanic flights, whereas Orly is the "local's choice" for domestic and European hops.
