Is it better to snorkel in the morning or afternoon in Bora Bora?

I would snorkel in the morning if picking one of the two as sometimes the wind comes up in the afternoon making the seas a little choppier. I have been told by one excursion operator that they take people to see the manta rays in the morning, and sharks in the afternoon.
