Like in most cities, you can hail any taxi that is driving down the street — easy! But, if you're having no luck, make sure you're not in a bus or tram lane. It's illegal for taxis to stop in these areas. Tourist areas where you'll easily find a taxi include Rembrandtplein, the Dam, and Leidseplein.
