The Exumas are a truly magical place and worth the visit. Most people will stay on Nassau which is the most touristy place in the Bahamas and only take a day trip to the Exumas but try to carve out at least three days to spend in the Exumas and then you can island hop around.

The island chain of Exuma, Bahamas is very unlike crowded Nassau. The small island of Little Exuma with a population of just over 7,300 people has quick daily flights from Florida and Nassau. I spent 5 days there exploring and relaxing and felt incredibly safe as a woman by myself.
