Is it expensive to stay on Capri?

Capri is famously (or infamously) expensive. It has, after all, been a resort island since the time of the ancient Roman Republic. Capri has always been considered a luxury travel destination, consequently, many people think that the island is out of their budget.

I like to stay in one place longer but if you have never been, I do think visiting Capri for two nights is a nice way to experience it for the first - you won't see as much as you could but you will certainly see and enjoy more than you would if you went for a day trip or just one night in and and out.

Capri is only 7km long and 3km across at its widest so nothing is too challenging, only the significant steep climbs and drops of many trails will put off the leisure visitor with a pair of sandals - though we have a recommended walk for those too.

This is a bit ambitious, doing everything in 2 weeks. We just did Capri, Naples and the Amalfi coast in spring and it took us 10 days which was way too short. I agree that you would need at least 3 days in Capri, Amalfi and Positano are both great places to visit and so is Ravello. Sorrento is nice but nothing special.
