Is it good to stay at Animal Kingdom?

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, according to many guests, provides a unique and fun location with views of animals, and is conveniently situated close to other Disney parks. The themed decor, including African artwork, is well-appreciated, but some found the rooms to be small and dark.



Staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in 2026 is widely considered one of the best and most unique resort experiences in the world. The primary draw is the savanna view rooms, where you can watch giraffes, zebras, and gazelles from your private balcony. This provides a level of immersion that no other Florida hotel can match. The lodge also features some of the best dining on Disney property, including Boma and Jiko. The main drawback is the location; because it is adjacent to the Animal Kingdom park, it is the furthest resort from Magic Kingdom and Epcot, meaning you will spend more time on buses. However, for travelers who want a "vacation from their vacation"—a peaceful, African-themed sanctuary away from the neon lights and crowds—it is worth every penny of its "Deluxe" price tag.

Typically, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park does not have an evening fireworks show, as it would upset the animal residents of the park at night. What you will enjoy, however, is the Tree of Life Awakenings show!

TIP: Bring binoculars to get a close-up glimpse of the animals that may be off in the distance. TIP: The best times to ride the Safari is first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon. The animals are often more active during both of these times.
