Enjoy the flexibility of changing the dates and times of your departure and/or return trip or feel free to upgrade your seat or room options. Changes can only be made if there is an email address on file through Amtrak.com or modify reservations through the Amtrak App.

If you board a train without a ticket the Amtrak conductor has the right to remove you. Some conductors will allow a passenger to purchase a ticket onboard using the app on their phone.

If a train is cancelled (and that's what's happened here) you're entitled to take the next train that matches any restrictions on your ticket. So if your ticket is routed via a certain place, you must go that way, or if it's only valid on a certain train company, you must use that companies services.

If you miss your connecting train This means you'll usually be permitted to travel on the next available train free of charge if your first train is delayed. They do not entitle you to a full refund of your order. You may need to show your tickets on later services as evidence of the delay.

Flexible tickets (Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak and Anytime tickets) These types of tickets can be refunded online for a fee. You have 28 days from expiry of the ticket to request a refund and return your ticket. If you have a mobile ticket and it has already been activated, you can no longer claim a refund on that journey.

If you purchased your tickets online as a guest, you may cancel your reservation online by clicking 'My Trip' at the top of any page. Enter your reservation number and email address or telephone number used when you made your reservation and click 'Find Trip.
