Is it safe to leave the resort in Varadero?

It shouldn't be a problem at all..,Varadero is very safe..,but saying that ,you should always use your street smarts.., don't go wondering down dark alleys, and if something doesn't look/feel right, just walk away. Extremely safe. You will be surrounded by other 18 year old girls and their boyfriends.
