Is it safe to walk in NYC early morning?

The safety is determined by the location, which in this case is New York City, the safest large city in America. It would take major effort by the ordinary tourist in NYC to find a place to walk in the early mornng that was NOT safe. Yes, it is safe, but here is my caveat about early morning walks.
