Is it scary driving up Pikes Peak? The drive to the summit is safe. The paved 19-mile highway is driven by thousands each year. There are amazing views and pull outs along the way to the summit so guests can take their time as they make the ascent to the summit.
Who should not go to Pikes Peak?
CAUTION: If you have a history of severe cardiac or respiratory problems, it is not recommended that you make the ascent to the summit. It is NOT recommended that infants under the age of 6 months make the ascent to the summit. The thinner air at the summit makes it difficult to breathe.
