It Is Instantly Familiar Disneyland uses the familiar hub and spoke layout, and the major lands are where you expect them to be. If you've spent a fair amount of time at Disney World, and the Magic Kingdom in particular, Disneyland is going to be immediately familiar to you, which is great from a planning standpoint.

Commuting time is minimal at Disneyland Resort, but there is much less to do. Most people are not going to be able to spend a full week at the California parks. Disneyland Resort is much better geared towards short trips, or trips that incorporate more than just Disney theme parks.
