Is it worth paying for EasyJet seats?

It all depends on how many other people on that particular flight decide to pay to select their seats. If it is going to upset you to be apart, even for only a relatively short time, then bite the bullet and pay to select your seats now rather than leaving it to chance.

Whether it is worth paying for an EasyJet seat selection depends on your priority for comfort, peace of mind, or boarding priority. If you are traveling as a group or family and want to guarantee you sit together, paying the fee (which varies by route and seat type) is often worth the extra £5–£15 to avoid the anxiety of the "random allocation" algorithm, which often splits parties up. For solo travelers, paying for an Extra Legroom or Up Front seat can be a significant upgrade; these seats not only offer more physical space but also include Speedy Boarding and a dedicated overhead locker space for one large cabin bag. If you only have a small "under-seat" bag and don't care where you sit, the random allocation is free and perfectly functional. However, in 2026, EasyJet has become stricter with cabin bag sizes, so many travelers find it "worth it" to buy the seat primarily to secure the right to bring a larger overhead bag, effectively treating the seat selection as a bundled luggage and boarding convenience.

Looking at the seat plans rows 12 & 13 are exit rows so will have a lot more leg room than 'normal' rows. The downside from my experience of those rows on other airlines are (1) the tables are in the armrest so do make the seats slightly narrower and (2) these seats can be somewhat colder than other seats.
