Is it worth seeing Mount Rushmore at night?

Despite the popularity, most visitors stop in the sunshine for a few photos and hop back in the car. Yet one of Mount Rushmore's best sights happens as the sun begins to set behind George Washington and his fellow Presidents. There are not many steps. There is an elevator from the parking area and also to the museum. There is some walking but it is all pavement.

An entrance pass is not required to access Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money. A parking fee is assessed by the authorized park concessionaire.
