Is it worth taking a 5 year old to Universal?

Rides at Universal Studios Orlando for 4-year-old & 5-year old. The cutest age to go to Universal in my opinion. My barely 4-year-old son rode all the rides below as they have a height limit of 40? or 42?, plus all the other rides with lower limits. Some rides are more intense than others.

Disney World definitely has more attractions for young kids, and Universal Studios might look like it just has thrill rides. But we like to wander the themed areas to watch street artists before casually catching character parades — without needing to queue up beforehand.

If your children are too small or unwilling to go on a particular ride that you want to experience, take advantage of our child swap program. Each ride and attraction has a family room where one member of your party can wait with the little ones while the rest of your party rides.

However, the Universal Studios age recommendation is a fairly mature 8 years-old. If they're younger they probably won't be able to appreciate much of the entertainment or be able to go on many rides, but families do have a fun experience when taking a trip together.

After finishing, Party 1 finds Party 2. Then, Party 1 swaps supervision of the non-riding children–hence this being known informally as child swap. Party 2 enters and boards the attraction via the Lightning Lane courtesy of their digital Rider Switch entitlement with minimal wait.

If you're more interested in large rides like roller coasters, Universal is going to be your best bet. The same is true if you're a big fan of Harry Potter. If you don't mind some of the more family-friendly rides or you have little ones to bring along, Disney may be a better option.

What are the ages of your kids? If they are young (say 10 and under), LEGOLAND is much better than Universal Studios Hollywood. As mentioned above, LEGOLAND is designed for kids, while Universal is more of an adult park (basically shows and a tram tour). I would go for Universal.

That said, Wizarding World (like most of the rides at Universal Studios) is probably best suited for kids 7 & up. Kids who are already well-versed in all things Potter will have the best time since every nook and cranny is inspired by J.K. Rowling's sprawling imagination.
