Is Knotts fat friendly?

Due to rider restraint requirements, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our attractions. This may apply, but not be limited to, guests who exceed 6' 2 or those who exceed 250 pounds (some attractions may have lower weight restrictions), have a 46 waistline or 54 chest.

Knott's Berry Farm is generally considered "moderately" friendly for larger guests, though like many older parks with high-intensity thrill rides, it has its challenges. Many of the park's classic attractions and family rides, such as the Calico Mine Ride and the Timber Mountain Log Ride, feature bench-style seating that is quite accommodating for guests of various sizes. However, the high-speed roller coasters manufactured by companies like B&M or Intamin—such as Silver Bullet, HangTime, and Xcelerator—utilize over-the-shoulder harnesses or tight lap bars that can be restrictive for guests with larger midsections, broad shoulders, or thick thighs. To assist guests, Knott's provides "test seats" at the entrance of most major thrill rides so you can check the fit discreetly before waiting in a long line. It is also helpful to know that some coasters have specific rows (often in the middle of the train) designed with slightly larger "Big Boy" seats or longer belts to accommodate a wider range of body types. If you are concerned about fit, the park's staff are generally well-trained to assist you with a "hike and push" on the harness, but safety regulations regarding the number of "clicks" on a restraint are strictly enforced.
