Is London to Paris Eurostar Scenic?

The Eurostar does not travel through the most glorious countryside. And you head underground before you can see the coast. In Kent you may get a glimpse of a few conical oast houses. The train travels very fast - and especially on the France side, there is nothing much to look at.

Here's what I got for my money. I upgraded my Eurostar ticket from London to Brussels to first class for only $12 more. The carriage was significantly more spacious than standard class and I also got a meal. I even got my own single seat, with no one directly next to or opposite me.

This should give you your own family space anyway. But don't leave it to the last minute. As others have said, Standard on the Eurostar is quite comfortable. I wouldn't pay more for Premier, although from time to time there are specials which make Premier fares less expensive than Standard.

It can take a minimum of 7 minutes from stepping off the train to exiting Eurostar arrivals, so if you're making a tightly timed connection move towards the front of the train before it arrives in London.
