Is Magic Kingdom better than Hollywood Studios for after hours?
So ultimately, you get just a little bit more time at Magic Kingdom than you do at Hollywood Studios. With Extended Evening Hours, you get a little less extra time. The Magic Kingdom hours generally run from 10PM to midnight, and the event in EPCOT is usually 9PM to 11PM.

Obviously, this comes with a very high price, so After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios isn't going to be “worth it” for most or even many Walt Disney World guests…but that's kind of the point. A limited capacity event keeps things manageable, and results in a more pleasant experience for those who can afford it.
Although the price sounds high for just 4-6 hours in the park, we suggest it does make sense if you think of it in terms of number of attractions rather than number of hours. You can get more done at the event than you could in a whole day at Magic Kingdom.
That harsh sunlight is replaced with the soft twinkling of lanterns and atmospheric lighting that sets the scene for after-dark magic. Not only does it give your ride experience a completely different feel, but there are some attractions that are even better to enjoy at night than during the day.
Magic Kingdom has fireworks every night of the year. Most of the time they are free with your park admission. However, there are a few nights in the fall and winter where you'll need a special ticket.
I'm not going to bury the lead, because the Magic Kingdom is definitely the best park to explore at night! That being said, there are a number of reasons why you should explore the Magic Kingdom after 7pm.
Disney's Hollywood Studios – Best Ages 6 to 17Even though it's not the best Disney park for younger kids, Hollywood Studios still appeals to that age range. For the First Time Ever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration is one of the best live stage shows at Disney World.
Movie Magic or Amazing AnimalsAnimal Kingdom has animal-inspired shows, food, rides, and attractions. If your little ones will be thrilled seeing a live Gorilla or a giraffe on Kilimanjaro Safaris, this Park is a must-see. Hollywood Studios is all about tapping into the glamour and glitz of the movie industry.
Which park is the best for thrill seekers? Although each park has something “thrilling”, we think Hollywood Studios is the best for adrenaline junkies. Not only does it have the most thrill rides overall, the ones it does have are some of the most intense of any in the parks.
Our 1-Day Hollywood Studios itinerary is an efficient step-by-step plan & strategy for minimizing time waiting in lines, maximizing rides, and avoiding crowds at Walt Disney World. It covers attractions, restaurants, shows, including Fantasmic, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story Land, and more.
A full day to take in everything would be best. Make sure you get fast passes for the rides that usually have the longest wait times, like toy story ride, rockin roller coaster, and tower of terror....all great rides not to be missed. All the shows are great, so you can't go wrong with any you choose.
To that point, we do not recommend only a half-day at DHS if you're a first-timer. Although there are a number of time-consuming stage shows without much repeatability, we usually do an entire day at Disney's Hollywood Studios even as WDW diehards. DHS is most definitely a full-day park, just to be clear.
there's a general advice, if you only have one day, to choose Magic Kingdom. It's the most visited park in the world for a reason. They have the longest hours, the most attractions (including most rides without minimums that little kids can do), parade, fireworks, the whole deal.
Originally opened in 1995, Blizzard Beach is by far the most under-the-radar park in Disney World, which is understandable considering its focus as a water-specific park. And let's fact it: water parks aren't everyone's cup of tea.
Disney's Magic Kingdom – Best for Ages 3 to 12Children ages 3 to 12 will especially enjoy Disney magic here, and there are only 3 rides with height requirements. Most of Magic Kingdom's attractions are for all ages, but there are some rides designed just for youngsters.
#1 – The Best Disney Park – Magic KingdomComing in at number one is the original 1971 Walt Disney World park, Magic Kingdom! Home to the most magical castle on Earth and some of the most classic attractions in theme parks.
EPCOT has TRIPLE the attractions of Hollywood Studios that are family-friendly for everyone in the family! And that doesn't even include all of the shows! We've already discussed some of them above in the “adults” section, like American Adventure, Awesome Planet, and Canada Far and Wide.
Crowds grow until mid to late afternoon when they stabilize until after the evening parade. After that, crowds shrink the rest of the evening. I can't stress this enough. Get to the park early and lines will be shorter!
