Is Maid of the Mist safe?

Some people may think that this is a risky trip. It would certainly be very dangerous to cross this river in a boat that is not suitable for it. But this is not the case on the Maid of the Mist. The trip is very safe, each passenger is provided with what is necessary to stay protected.



The Maid of the Mist boat tour at Niagara Falls is considered exceptionally safe and has a long-standing reputation for passenger security. There are no age or height restrictions, and the tour is safe for infants, seniors, and pregnant women. The captains are highly experienced in managing the currents and mist conditions. While the experience is thrilling and you will definitely get wet from the spray, the physical risk is minimal as the boats maintain a safe distance from the actual wall of falling water.

Unfortunately, you won't find a Maid of the Mist of the Canadian Side of Niagara Falls because of two reasons: firstly, Canadian side has Hornblower Niagara City Cruise, an equivalent of Maid of the Mist; and secondly, Maid of the Mist happens to be on the US side only since 2014.
