Majorca is one of the sunniest destinations in Europe, but it is not "sunny all year round" in the sense of a tropical climate. It enjoys over 300 days of sunshine annually, but it does experience a distinct winter season. In 2026, summer months (June–August) see up to 13 hours of bright sunshine per day with almost no rain. However, during the winter months of December, January, and February, the average daily sunshine drops to about 5 or 6 hours, and temperatures can dip to 7°C (45°F) at night. October is statistically the wettest month, often bringing sharp, heavy storms. While you can certainly enjoy bright blue skies in the middle of February—ideal for the famous almond blossom season or professional cycling training—it is not "beach weather" year-round. Most coastal resorts close during the winter, shifting the focus to cultural tourism in Palma and outdoor activities in the Tramuntana mountains.
