Is Mount Titlis covered in Swiss Travel Pass?

From Lucerne reaching Mt. Titlis takes around 45 mins, and from Zurich, it may take over 1 hr 30 mins. If you are holding a Swiss Travel Pass, not only can you benefit from discounted fares, but also your children tickets to Mt. Titlis are free – just like a family card, it's included in your Swiss Pass cost.

Mount Titlis is not fully covered by the Swiss Travel Pass, but it does receive a significant 50% discount. While the Swiss Travel Pass provides free unlimited travel on most trains, buses, and boats throughout Switzerland, high-altitude mountain excursions usually require a separate ticket. With your pass, the train journey from Lucerne to Engelberg is 100% free. Once you arrive in Engelberg, you will need to present your Swiss Travel Pass at the Titlis cable car station to purchase your mountain ascent ticket at half price. This ticket includes the famous "Titlis Rotair" (the world’s first revolving cable car), the Glacier Cave, the Titlis Cliff Walk (Europe's highest suspension bridge), and the Ice Flyer chairlift. For 2026, a few mountains are fully covered (100% free) with the pass, most notably Mount Rigi, Mount Stanserhorn, and Mount Stoos. However, for major "glacier" peaks like Titlis or the Jungfraujoch, the 50% discount is the standard benefit. This remains one of the best values of the pass, as it can save a single traveler over 50 Swiss Francs on a single excursion. Always remember to keep your pass handy (digitally or on paper), as you must show it both at the ticket office and often during the ticket inspections on the mountain lifts themselves.

FAQ. Which is better Jungfraujoch or Titlis? While both destinations are really nice and Jungfraujoch is more unique, Mount Titlis is much easier, quicker, and also significantly cheaper to visit than Jungfrau. So if you have to pick just one of the two – in summer or in winter – I think I'd go to Mt Titlis.

Between the two? Mt Titlis. There is the Rotair (revolving cable car to get up there), great views, loads of snow sports etc at the top. Glacier 3000 has the Peak Walk which doesn't amount to a lot but is somewhat innovative.
