Is one day enough for Tokyo DisneySea?

In our Tokyo Disney Resort Trip Planning Guide we recommend multiple days at TDS if you have the time, so you necessarily will have to skip some things if you only have one day. Japan is a beautiful country, so we totally understand if a day is all you allocate to Tokyo DisneySea!

Tokyo Disneyland is at least a one-day park, and if you're interested in trying to take it in, you'll need another half or full day. Tokyo DisneySea is a two-day park with plenty to support a third day. Since the longest ticket you can buy for the parks is four days, we think planning four park days is a good target.

Whether you are a Disneyland veteran or a first-timer, the first decision you need to make is which of the two Tokyo Disney parks you want to visit. As a general overview, Tokyo Disneyland caters more to families and kids while Tokyo DisneySea is popular among couples and young adults.

Tokyo Disney Resort doesn't offer a 1-Day Park Hopper (read more about park tickets in our guide), but there is a way around this. This way you're able to enjoy everything Tokyo DisneySea has to offer during the day, then head over to Tokyo Disneyland after 18:00 (6 PM).

For the classic Disney theme park experience, Disneyland is for you. DisneySea is the place to be for something different and geared more towards adults. Either way, you'll have a spellbinding time!

BUY FOOD BEFORE ENTERING Both Disney Parks allow you to bring food and drinks. If you want to save money, go to a local convenience or grocery store and pick up some snacks and beverages to last the day. Bringing your own food saves you time too as you will not have to wait in any lines.

Answer: Disneyland. Disneysea rarely has parades. The shows are mainly held on the lake in the middle of the park of the stage. They are very impressive and my kids really like them but they also feel like the characters are a little bit far from them (but maybe that's just my disney-loving kiddies!)
