However, the Disneyland Resort is no longer utilizing Boarding Groups for this attraction. Instead, Ride of the Resistance can be accessed either by a standby line or through Disney Genie+ as an Individual Lightning Lane selection.
Many other attraction lines in Hollywood Studios have short standby lines in the morning. It's a better use of your time to ride them and save Rise for when lines are longer for everything later in the day (11:00am or later at least!).
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has an individual Lightning Lane available for purchase. Guests of Disney resorts can purchase it at 7AM, while other guests have to wait until the park opens, subject to availability. This is the easiest way to get on the ride, but it comes at a price of about $15 to $25 per person.
Wait times are fairly constant–if not slightly increasing–throughout the morning and early afternoon. There's no lunch lull or other sweet spot to target Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. You either want to do it first thing or wait until much later in the day.
With Walt Disney World, there's so much to know and do in preparing for a trip–a lot of which regulars take for granted as “common knowledge” because it's become second-nature to them. Disneyland is less stressful, more laid-back, and allows for greater spontaneity.
