Epic Games has finally removed the Shockwave Hammer from Fortnite a lot of concern and criticism from the community. This particular weapon was glitching and allowed players to infinitely bounce around the map while dealing damage to opponents. This made the weapon extremely overpowered and unfair.

After nearly thirty years in operation, Shockwave closed permanently on August 9, 2015. It was replaced by Delirium, a Mondial Revolution flat ride, which opened in 2016.

The reason to discontinue Shockwave is quite simple. “As technologies evolve and the use of mobile devices has grown, interactive content has moved to platforms such as HTML5 Canvas and WebGL and usage of Shockwave has declined,” according to the company.

Re-tracking the ride wasn't an option, as the uniqueness of the coaster made new track segments difficult to come by. The park ordered a replacement coaster for Volcano, but to no avail. According to Kings Dominion, the ride had reached the end of its service life.
