Is Star Wars Rise of the Resistance ride worth it?

This is the must do ride at Hollywood Studios. This immersive ride was fun, exciting, and exhilarating. Make sure to have your cameras ready, especially if you are a Star Wars fan. The initial parts of the ride are largely walk-through.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is widely considered by theme park critics and casual fans alike to be one of the most immersive and "worth it" attractions ever built. In 2026, it remains the flagship "E-Ticket" attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland, offering a massive 18-minute experience that blends multiple ride systems into a single narrative. The journey includes being "captured" by the First Order, standing in a hangar with 50 Stormtroopers, a trackless escape through a Star Destroyer, and a thrilling final drop in an escape pod. Its sheer scale, high-resolution projections, and lifelike animatronics (including Kylo Ren and BB-8) set a new global standard for storytelling. While wait times can often exceed 100 minutes, the detailed queue through Resistance caves makes the wait more bearable. For most visitors, even those who aren't die-hard Star Wars fans, the attraction is a "must-do" that justifies the price of a Lightning Lane Single Pass or an early morning "rope drop" sprint.

I'm not even a massive Star Wars fan but I love this, such a fun ride and so fun having a character pilot at the front. Whether you like Star Wars or not this is a must do.

The Bottom Line. We think Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run is not to be missed. While not nearly as immersive as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, it offers you the chance to yell things like, “Never tell me the odds!” while piloting the ship. Where else can you do that?
