Is the AIR MILES card being discontinued?

As of September 30, 2023, all Air Miles co-branded credit cards will be discontinued, and cardholders will be transitioned to a card that earns American Express Membership Rewards instead. This is the latest development to come from BMO's acquisition of Air Miles, albeit one that isn't too surprising.

Here's the catch. Air Miles themselves do not expire. But, if your account “expires” by being “dormant” (or inactive) for 24 consecutive months, then the points on it will disappear. An account is considered inactive if there are no points transactions within that period.
