The Bahamas (and T and C) are way more expensive than Mexico or the DR. And there are very few AI resorts, if that's what you're looking for, and they're mainly in the upper price range. I've never been to Punta Cana, but have been to the Bahamas 3 times and Cancun once. I'd go with Cancun for the better beach/water.
