The best way to get around Victoria & Vancouver Island is by bike or car. Central Victoria – especially the Inner Harbour – can easily be explored on foot, while bike paths will lead you to less touristy neighborhoods.
That said, don't make the mistake of thinking you can properly do Victoria in one day (unless you take a float plane from Vancouver to Victoria). We recommend you spend at least two days in Victoria, preferably three days if your itinerary allows it.
While there's no direct Seattle-to-Vancouver ferry route, you can still travel between the two cities by water if you have time for a little side trip to Victoria, British Columbia.
