Is there a lazy river at Disney?

At Walt Disney World, guests of Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort share access to Stormalong Bay, an onsite water park loaded with attractions, including a tranquil lazy river.

There is no lazy river inside the four main theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom), but there are several excellent ones located within the broader Walt Disney World Resort. The most famous "Disney-owned" lazy rivers are found in the two water parks: Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon and Cross Country Creek at Blizzard Beach. Castaway Creek is a gentle, 2,100-foot-long tropical river that winds through caves and lush landscapes, while Cross Country Creek is one of the longest lazy rivers in the country, taking about 20 to 30 minutes to complete a full circuit. Additionally, several Disney Resort hotels feature their own lazy rivers. The most notable is Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, which features a sand-bottomed lazy river as part of its massive 3-acre pool complex. The Disney's Riviera Resort also has a sophisticated pool area, but for a "true" sprawling lazy river experience at a hotel, many guests look to the Four Seasons Resort Orlando or the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, both of which are located on Disney property and offer massive, winding rivers that are often considered superior to the ones at the official Disney-branded hotels.

Be advised that the lazy river is deep at 8 feet so be sure to use a complementary life vest. The biggest surprise of all – spoiler alert – the bottom of the pool is sand! That's a bonus treat for tired feet at the end of a Disney day.
