While Jordan is a majority-Muslim country where alcohol is not widely consumed in public, it is readily available to tourists in Petra and the neighboring town of Wadi Musa. Most of the high-end hotels, such as the Mövenpick Resort Petra and the Marriott, have fully licensed bars. One of the most famous spots is the "Cave Bar," located in a 2,000-year-old Nabataean tomb just outside the entrance to the Petra archaeological site, which claims to be the oldest bar in the world. You can find local Jordanian beers like Petra Beer (which can be quite strong) and local wines like Saint George or Jordan River. However, you will not find alcohol in the supermarkets or small kiosks inside the archaeological park itself. During the holy month of Ramadan, availability may be more restricted, and it is always respectful to consume alcohol only in designated bars and restaurants rather than in public spaces.
