Is there an app to pay for BART?

Use the official BART app to purchase Daily Fee, Reserved (single/multi-day, monthly and EV), Carpool, and Non-BART parking.

In 2026, the primary way to pay for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) digitally is through the Clipper app. While there is an "Official BART App" for trip planning, real-time departures, and paying for station parking, the actual fare payment is handled by the regional Clipper Card system integrated into your mobile wallet. You can add a virtual Clipper card to Apple Wallet or Google Pay and simply tap your phone or smartwatch at the fare gates. This "tap-and-go" method has largely replaced physical cards for most commuters. Additionally, a 2026 integration allows you to plan and book "first/last mile" Uber trips directly within the BART app, providing a seamless end-to-end journey within a single digital platform.
