Is there free shuttle in Acadia National Park?

Relax and enjoy a fare-free ride on the Island Explorer shuttle, which provides service between park destinations, local communities, and Bar Harbor-Hancock County Regional Airport. Regularly scheduled buses stop at destinations in the park, including campgrounds, carriage road entrances, and many trailheads.

The shuttle goes up and down the mountain hourly, sunrise to sunset, with a mid-day break, every day, all season long. Shuttle leaves for Cadillac's summit, from Bar Harbor, at the top of each hour and down from the Summit on the half hour. Boarding is 5 - 10 minutes prior to leaving, 1st come, 1st serve.
