Is Universal Big People friendly?

Adventure has been welcome to guests of all shapes and sizes at Universal Orlando Resort, offering thrills, attractions and so much more. As a local “larger” theme park enthusiast and Annual Passholder myself, I've had the same concerns and wondered which Universal rides are best designed to accommodate larger guests.

Granted, we know that not all adults are thrill seekers when it comes to attractions. But if perhaps you're looking for rides you can't typically get on if or when you've had a little one in tow on a different trip, Universal Studios is your best bet.

At Universal, the wait times can be long for the bigger roller coasters, but the parks themselves are generally much less crowded. There's usually more room to space out and breathe without other guests crowding around you.

While there are height requirements, Disney World rides do not have weight limits. We reached out to the Magical Kingdom for confirmation! Disney World assured us that no theme park attractions have weight limits. However, many rides feature restraint devices which may prevent some guests from being able to ride.

As you can guess if Saturday and Monday tend to be the busiest, Tuesday tends to be the best day to visit Universal Studios Orlando. We also find Thursday to be one of the least busy days of the week at Universal Studios, with Sunday being a great weekend option.

However, the Universal Studios age recommendation is a fairly mature 8 years-old. If they're younger they probably won't be able to appreciate much of the entertainment or be able to go on many rides, but families do have a fun experience when taking a trip together.

Q: Which Universal park is best for adults? A: We find Universal's Islands of Adventure to be the best Universal Studios park for adults. It simply has the most exciting roller coasters and newest attractions.

Visitors must be fully clothed, including shoes and shirts. Except as required by Universal or for religious or medical reasons, visitors may not wear any covering that fully or partially obscures a person's face.

The period just after New Year's and before March first is historically the least crowded time of the year to visit Universal Studios Orlando. Crowds increase on certain long weekends, like Martin Luther King Jr.

You could certainly spend multiple days there seeing all the theme park has to offer but 6-7 hours should cover the main sights and experiences to get through that you are interested in.

Visit during peak times Don't visit when everyone else does. If possible, try to avoid long weekends, spring and summer breaks and busy holidays. You can check the ticket calendar on the park's website and look for the dates with the cheapest admission, $109. Those are safe bets for avoiding the biggest crowds.

4 days is not too much! You'll be able to take a more relaxed pace. And you can re-ride your favorites multiple times! I love Universal because it's so relaxed and sometimes it's nice not to have to do much planning.

What waist size is allowed on the rides at Universal Studios? Universal Orlando Resort has put out an official guideline to keep in mind before you visit, that if your waistline meets or exceeds 40 inches, there are a few rides where accommodations might not be possible. With that being said, that is just a guideline!
