Windsor Great Park is characterized by a gently undulating and "rolling" landscape rather than being strictly flat or steeply mountainous. While much of the 4,800-acre park consists of sweeping lawns and flat wooded paths, there are several notable inclines that can be a workout for walkers and cyclists. The most famous "hill" is Snow Hill, located at the southern end of the Long Walk. This spot offers a significant elevation gain and provides the iconic panoramic view looking back toward Windsor Castle. The Long Walk itself is a 2.64-mile straight path that slopes gradually upward as you move away from the Castle toward the Copper Horse statue. Other areas, like the Valley Gardens and the slopes near Virginia Water, feature "winding" paths with moderate gradients. If you prefer a completely flat walk, the perimeter path directly around Virginia Water Lake is your best option, as it stays level with the water’s edge. Overall, the park is accessible for most fitness levels, but visitors should be prepared for steady, gradual climbs if they intend to explore the more historic high points.
