You should never post a photo of your boarding pass online, even if you attempt to blur out your name. A boarding pass contains a wealth of sensitive data, most notably your Passenger Name Record (PNR) and a barcode that can be easily scanned by anyone with a free smartphone app. This barcode often contains your full name, frequent flyer number, and detailed contact information. Using just your PNR and last name, a malicious actor could log into the airline's "Manage Booking" portal to cancel your return flight, change your seat to a middle seat by the lavatory, or even reset your frequent flyer account password to steal your miles. Furthermore, posting your travel dates signals to potential burglars exactly when your home will be empty. If you want to share your travel excitement, it is much safer to post a picture of your passport cover, a view of the plane's wing from the terminal, or a photo of your pre-flight coffee instead.
