Wadi Rum, JordanThe Aki-Aki species lived on the desert planet Pasaana, which was featured in the film Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. For three weeks, Wadi Rum in Jordan was used to film the scene's spectacular desert landscapes and distinctive rock formations.
According to Mandalorian director Jon Favreau, most of the show was actually shot in California. “There is real photography being incorporated, but the actors aren't brought on location. The location is brought to the actors,” Favreau told The Hollywood Reporter in 2019.
