United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines and many others have similar policies for domestic flights, with a cutoff age of 2 years old. On international flights, there is no fare for lap infants, but fees may apply. In most cases, you'll need to add the infant to the adult's ticket.

Travel Restrictions and Required DocumentationIs your child two years old? Or turning two years old en route? If yes, then a seat is required to be purchased for all flights in which your child is 2 years old.
Once your infant turns 2 years old, they'll be considered a child and will need to travel in their own seat. You'll need to book them as a 'Child' and pay the child fare.
Although children who have not reached their second birthday are permitted to travel as lap children, the FAA strongly discourages this practice and recommends that you secure your child in an approved CRS in their own seat for the entire flight.
To prove your child's age to an airline, one of the following documents will suffice: Child's passport (how to get a U.S. passport for an infant and things to know about children's passports) Child's birth certificate. Child's immunization form or other medical records may also work domestically.
Children aged 5 – 12 years:For most airlines children aged between 5 and 12 years old (15 for some airlines e.g. Emirates and Virgin Atlantic) can fly alone using the airline's Unaccompanied Minor Service. Usually an adult fare must be paid.
Child Ticket Age and PriceMost airlines count any person between the ages of 2—11 as a child. You're required to purchase a seat for children, although in most cases they're considerably cheaper than the price of an adult ticket (between 25—33% cheaper).
Infants or children under two are not required to have their own seat and therefore pay an infant fare (0 – 23 months) if they travel on an adult's lap as a 'lap infant'. Crew will issue a lap belt to secure around you and the baby. Alternatively, you can book a separate seat for your infant and pay a child's fare.
The most important thing to note is that infants are welcome above the age of 3 days old and can fly as lap children until they turn 2 — just be sure to bring proof of age. Additionally, your lap child will be allowed to bring 1 diaper bag, 1 car seat, and 1 stroller for no extra cost. Checked bags are not included.
Infants under 2 years old can travel at no charge in the lap of their parent (any age), or an accompanying adult 16 years or older traveling in the same cabin. We welcome infants as young as 2 days old, but infants less than 7 days old require a 'Passenger Medical' form to be completed before your flight.

Standard strollers, folding wagons, and car seats can be used to get to your gate and then checked for free. They'll be returned to you on arrival. Collapsible strollers can be stored in-cabin. Car seats can be used onboard your flight too.
Children under the age of 11 travel free on London´s buses and trams, with or without an adult, at any time, and don't need a ticket. Children under the age of 11 also travel free on London Underground, DLR (Docklands Light Railway), overground and TFL rail without a ticket if they're accompanied by a paying adult.
Children under the age of 16 do not need to show identification when travelling on domestic flights. The adult they are travelling with must travel with photographic identification and be able to confirm their identity.
