Prehistoric. The Venus of Berekhat Ram, an anthropomorphic pebble found in northern Israel and dated to at least 230,000 years before present, is claimed to be the oldest known statuette.
Christ the King has a height of 33 metres (108 ft), symbolising a traditional belief that Jesus' age at his death was 33; combined with its mound and crown, it reaches 52.5 metres (172 ft). The crown of the temple is 3.5 metres (11 ft) in diameter and 2 metres (6.6 ft) in height, and the whole is gilded.
It was no surprise, then, that the USSR would commemorate this titanic battle with something truly spectacular after the Allied victory in 1945. Standing at 85 metres high, The Motherland Calls is the tallest statue in Europe and the tallest statue of a woman in the world.
