What are the bracelets for at Disneyland?

The MagicBand uses radio-frequency identification (RFID) electromagnetic fields. You link it to your park ticket or Magic Key pass so that the MagicBand can be used for park admission and to redeem Lightning Lanes with Genie+ or other services, such as scanning in for Disability Access Service (DAS).

The bracelets at Disneyland are called MagicBand+, and they serve as an all-in-one wearable "key" to the resort experience. These RFID and Bluetooth-enabled bands link to your Disney account, allowing you to enter the theme parks, check in for Lightning Lane reservations, and link PhotoPass pictures to your account with a simple tap. Unlike the older versions, the MagicBand+ features haptic vibrations and color-changing lights that "glow along" with nighttime spectaculars like World of Color or Happily Ever After. They also unlock interactive games, such as the "Batuu Bounty Hunters" quest in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, where the band vibrates to lead you to hidden targets. For guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel, the band also functions as your room key and a payment method for food and merchandise, allowing for a truly "hands-free" vacation without the need to fumble for wallets or paper tickets.
