What are the new routes for Lufthansa in 2023?

Lufthansa is expanding its service to India. New Munich – Bangalore service is starting in Nov 2023, complementing the existing service from Frankfurt – Bangalore. Lufthansa guests will be able to enjoy one of the Lufthansa Group's most modern and economical long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900.

In 2023, Lufthansa significantly expanded its global network by launching several high-profile routes from its hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. Highlights included the introduction of direct service from Frankfurt to Belfast, Northern Ireland, and to Gatwick Airport in London. The airline also added sun-soaked destinations like Asturias, Spain, and Biarritz, France, to its portfolio. From its Munich hub, Lufthansa resumed long-haul flights to Osaka, Japan, and Mexico City, while also adding European connections to Bordeaux, France, and Rzeszów, Poland. This expansion was part of a broader strategy to meet surging post-pandemic travel demand and provide more point-to-point options for both business and leisure travelers. By adding these diverse locations, Lufthansa aimed to solidify its position as a leading European carrier, offering passengers more flexibility and access to both major metropolitan centers and emerging tourist regions across the globe.
