What are the new rules for Kings Island?

Under the new policy, park-goers 15 years old and younger need to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted to or remain in the park after 4 p.m. to closing time. The chaperone will need to present a photo ID with a birthdate in order to be let in.

As of early 2026, Kings Island has implemented several key operational updates, most notably a strict Chaperone Policy. All guests aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to or remain in the park after 4:00 PM (or 2:00 PM on Saturdays). The chaperone must stay with the group and be reachable by phone. Additionally, the park is now entirely cashless; all transactions for food, merchandise, and games require a credit card, debit card, or mobile payment like Apple Pay. For those with cash, "Cash-to-Card" kiosks are located throughout the park. There is also a refreshed "Code of Conduct" that strictly prohibits "line jumping" (including leaving and re-entering a line for any reason) and the use of profanity. Bag policies have also tightened: only small bags or clutches are permitted in certain high-thrill ride queues, with mandatory locker use enforced for items like backpacks and large umbrellas.
