Drivers rate you way before knowing if you tipped or not. When your ride is over, the app instantly pops up the window which mandates that they rate you before being able to do anything else. It's only after they rate you that they can see if you tipped or not. Nothing else on their app works until they rate you.
Grab management has just announced that starting this Friday, April 27, the ride-hailing platform's drivers will no longer be able to see their passenger's destination prior to accepting a booking. The move comes in an attempt by the company to reduce selective behavior of drivers.
