Basic entry requirements
- have a valid travel document, like a passport.
- be in good health.
- have no criminal or immigration-related convictions.
- convince an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country.
The amount may vary depending on the duration of your trip and your itinerary. Generally, it is recommended to have a bank balance of at least CAD $10,000 to apply for a Canada tourist visa.

If you stay longer than 6 months under the eTA program and your stay has not been extended by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (emergency situations only), you will lose your travel authorization and not be able to use the eTA for future trips.
