Beach Rules
- Use of the beach is free; no beach tags needed, and is open to the public 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- No ball-playing, Frisbee-throwing, or Kites of any kind between 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily from May 30 to September 15, by Town Ordinance.
- No Pets allowed on the beach or boardwalk Between May 1st and September 30th.
It shall be unlawful to park any commercial vehicle unless performing services for or on behalf of the Mayor and City Council. It shall be unlawful to utilize any vehicle for sleeping quarters. No Overnight Parking Allowed – Vehicles and trailers will be towed if parked between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Smoking is prohibited in all public spaces, including the beach and Boardwalk. The designated smoking areas, which are designed to accommodate both smokers and nonsmokers, feature 22-gallon waste receptacles and are located along the beach and 15 feet off the boardwalk.

Daily tags will cost $10, up from $5. The price of a daily beach tag had not changed since 2002. In Ocean City, all beachgoers who are at least 12 years old, are required to have beach tags to be on the beach, while the lifeguards are on duty, from the first weekend in June through Labor Day weekend.
