Byzantine architecture was heavily influenced by Constantine's Early Christian style architecture and had many similarities in its core characteristics such as the use of mosaics, a focus on the apse, and the use of high windows called a clerestory which can be seen in the Church of San Vitale in Ravenna, Italy.
