Carnival Corporation owns and operates several exclusive private beach destinations, but the most prominent "owned" beach is Mahogany Beach on the island of Roatán, Honduras. This 20-acre facility is part of the Mahogany Bay Cruise Center, which was financed and built by Carnival. In 2026, this destination is undergoing a major rebranding and expansion to be renamed Isla Tropicale, featuring new beach clubs, swim-up bars, and enhanced cabana offerings. Additionally, Carnival Corporation owns Half Moon Cay (shared with Holland America) and Princess Cays (primarily for Princess Cruises) in the Bahamas. Their newest and most ambitious "owned" destination, Celebration Key, opened in Grand Bahama in July 2025. These "private islands" or "exclusive ports" allow Carnival to control the entire guest experience and keep 100% of the revenue from food, shore excursions, and equipment rentals, making them some of the most profitable assets in the company’s portfolio.
