The most famous collision involving Carnival Cruise Line ships occurred in December 2019, when the Carnival Glory collided with the Carnival Legend while attempting to dock in Cozumel, Mexico. The aft (rear) of the Carnival Glory crashed into the bow of the Carnival Legend, causing a significant and highly publicized "crunch" that shattered windows and twisted the metal of the Glory's dining room. While there were minor injuries to six passengers, the damage was largely structural and above the waterline, allowing both ships to eventually continue their itineraries. In more recent years leading into 2026, there have been other minor "allisions" (ships hitting stationary objects) involving various cruise lines during high winds, but the Glory-Legend incident remains the most cited example of two "sister" ships making contact due to tricky maneuvering in a crowded port during inclement weather.
