At Disney's Animal Kingdom, several outdoor attractions will close during significant rain or lightning for safety. Most notably, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, and the Maharajah Jungle Trek (animal walking paths) will shut down. Furthermore, almost all outdoor animal-centric experiences, such as the Kilimanjaro Safaris, may see limited operation or temporary closure if weather conditions become too severe for the animals' comfort or safety. Live outdoor shows like Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! are generally safe as they are indoors, but smaller outdoor street performances will be cancelled. If it’s just a light sprinkle, most rides stay open, but once thunder is detected within a 10-mile radius, all "high-point" outdoor rides close immediately. For a rainy day, your best bets are the indoor Avatar Flight of Passage and the Festival of the Lion King show.
