How much is the security deposit for a Hertz rental? A $200 refundable security deposit is collected and held by Hertz on your credit card or debit card when you pick up the car. The deposit is returned when you stop renting the vehicle and return the car.
You can rent a car with a $300 credit limit, but it depends on the amount of time you plan on renting the vehicle and the type of vehicle you're renting.
Regardless of payment method a valid credit card with sufficient credit is required to secure the rental at time of pickup. We typically reserve an amount on your credit card (or take a deposit) at least equal to the estimated charges plus a security bond (amount is shown on your Rental Agreement).
Hertz Hold on Credit CardThe authorization hold is a standard practice.
